I am a devoted family man, blessed with a baby girl, a remarkable wife, and a mini goldendoodle. My passion for coffee fuels a relentless quest for the perfect brew. Raised in a bi-racial family in Los Angeles, I experienced both highs and lows. While I won’t delve deeply into my background, facing challenges such as not fitting in and financial struggles, all while attending a school surrounded by successful individuals, has endowed me with resilience and gratitude. These experiences have shaped me, and I wouldn’t change my past.
Now 41, I’m still in Los Angeles, continually learning and deliberately placing myself in challenging situations. I seek guidance from everyone around me and am always eager to ask questions and learn. This approach has served me well, and I plan to maintain it.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve witnessed the rapid evolution of Los Angeles culture and global trends. Born at an opportune time, I understand both the pre-internet era and the digital age. My lifelong fascination with technology and gadgets likely stems from watching sci-fi shows like Star Trek with my father.
Below are other moments in my career that I am grateful for.
POP-UPS IN LA
I was a part of KnownGallery for a few years, and we hosted the first wave of A-List superstar + album + merch pop-up shops. You can google it and see who I am referring to. At this point, there were no more parties in LA. We also helped execute one of the biggest sneaker retrospectives at the time, displaying over 3,000 grails. That one was a wild one to pull off.
TRADE SHOWS
At The NTWRK Agency, there was a gap in the market for trade shows during the summer and holiday seasons. I founded the LA Men’s Market in Downtown Los Angeles to address this need. I eventually passed the leadership to my former assistant, an incredible industry leader who remains a dear friend.
YES, I HAD A PODCAST
I started the Kellen Roland Show to share my love for life, coffee, and personal growth by connecting and sharing stories. Even though it has been years since I recorded new episodes, the show is still accessible online. Now, I use KRMC as my means to connect.
